Great Britain Booklets - General Information
Two value booklets (2/- and 3/-) were printed. The covers were designed by Barnett Freedman who also designed the Great Britain Silver Jubilee stamps. The booklet stamps were printed separately from the sheet stamps. The layout of the stamp printing was also different with the result half the stamps had normal watermarks while the other half had inverted watermarks.

Four different series of 3/- booklets were printed in May and June of 1935 (Numbers 294, 295, 296 & 297). It is not known how many booklets were printed but normal practice at the time was to produce a half million books with each printing . Each pane consisted of four stamps.
For the 3/- booklets there were
5 panes of 1½d stamps
1 pane of 1d stamps
1 pane of ½d stamps

Seven series of 2/- booklets were printed in May and June of 1935 (Numbers 298 through to 304). Like the 3/- booklet, each pane consisted of 4 stamps. For the 2/- booklet they were:
3 panes of 1½d stamps
1 pane of 1d stamps
1 pane of ½d stamps

Each booklet contained advertising on the inside and back covers as well as between the panes. Three courtesy airmail stickers as well as information on the inland and foreign postal rates was also included. Examples are shown below.
