Perfins originated in Great Britain. There are over 23,000 different stamp perfins. The Silver Jubilee issue itself has some 819 known different perfins. A catalogue of the Great Britain Perfins (KGV Silver Jubilees), authored by GE Greenhill has been published by The Perfin Society.

The Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd used this perfin between 1890 and 1969.

Frodingham Iron & Steel Company from Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire used this multi headed die between 1925 and 1936.

The Port of London Authority used this perfin on stamps between 1905 and 1935

The Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts was founded in 1701 by the Church of England, and for the first half of the 18th century its work was chiefly carried out in mainland North America, Newfoundland and the West Indies. It is based in London and used this perfin on its stamps between 1918 and 1939.
