This was the first firing of rocket mail over a river (from Surumsa to Ray). The flight (Rocket No. 52) is identified by the markings and the red commemorative label.

This is an unused label from the world's first rocket parcel experiment (Rocket flight No. 52. Signed by Smith. Note the number 26





Later on the same day Smith arranged for a rocket to fire mail from Ray to Surumsa. Note the different coloured label.









1800 blue labels with overprints in sheets of three were flown on firing of Rocket No. 53
