Sheet Layout
This page contains information on the sheet layout (immediately below), nomenclature used and an example of a pane.
The 2d and 3d plates are arranged in four groups (sheets) of 80 stamps each, with an upper and lower pane. Each pane pane consists of 4 horizontal rows of 10 stamps. Two shilling plate is a half plate with two sheets side-by-side.

Nomenclature for describing stamp position on plate
Each sheet accorded letter based on location on plate (see below). Pane is identified as either Upper or Lower. Stamp given a number as per above figure.

B = Upper Right Sheet

C = Lower Left Sheet

D = Lower Right Sheet

Example: A variety found on Plate 1, occurring in Upper Right Sheet, Lower Pane and in Row 3, column 10 is marked as "1B/L30"

 This pane is from Plate 3 and is the Lower Pane of the Lower Left Sheet i.e. 3C/L
